Miracles Can Happen

Over the 10 days leading up to Christmas, we challenged Canadians to finance 10,000 sight-restoring cataract surgeries in developing countries - 10,000 miracles in 10 days!

cbm Canada's Director of Marketing & Communications, Beth Jost-Reimer, announced today, “A big thanks to all the caring Canadians who made 10,000 miracles and more possible.

“In fact we surpassed all expectations by being able to raise enough funds to complete 15,562 operations for those moms, dads and children whose lives will be transformed with sight.

“cbm has now completed approximately 6 million cataract surgeries worldwide. We are so proud of Canadians that are saving lives through cbm,” she said.

cbm is a world leader in rescuing, restoring and empowering people trapped in poverty by disability in developing countries, regardless of race, gender, age or religion. cbm helps over 18 million people who are sick and disabled each year in more than 1,000 projects and over 100 developing countries.
