Dear cbm friend,
It’s my privilege, as the new Executive Director of cbm Canada, to join you in this important cause of improving life for people trapped in poverty and disability.
I’ve spent more than 20 years of my life in development work – doing what I can to bring positive change into the lives of the poorer people of the world. I do it because I love it... because it fulfills the values that I grew up with… because it makes a difference.
Mostly, though, I am involved in alleviating poverty and suffering in the world, because of my faith. I believe it’s the way a Christian life should be lived – by treating all people as if they were Jesus.
That's something I see in you. Through your gifts and prayers, you live your faith in a way that tangibly shows Jesus' love and justice to the world.
My vision for cbm is that, together, we can engage more Canadians in this life-changing cause. So that the work grows, not so much in dollars, but in the impact we're making in people's lives.
This is the amazing work cbm has been doing for more than 100 years, and with God's help we'll continue to do so.
The difference cbm, and supporters like you are making in the world is undeniable. It's an honour to be joining you in this work. I ask for you prayers and support as I take on this role. And I look forward to getting to know you in the months and years to come.
